I just received my new Invacare AVIVA FX20 power chair and it has everything I need, I’ve had pressure sores since right after I got out of the hospital, I’m 58yrs old and 14 months ago I was in a vehicle accident and became a paraplegic, before then I had never been in a hospital, seldom went to any doctors office, so I’ve had to learn a lot , the hard way , I have a very supportive family that have taken care of me thru this life changing experience, and it’s been hard for all of them as well , I was hospitalized for 30 days after the accident and struggled every day when I was released, I developed my first pressure sore 2 months after being home but not knowing what it was , it was left untreated for for 2weeks and then I was back in the hospital and I’ve been in hospitals and nursing homes pretty much for the last 13 months, only spent a total of 4 weeks at home , this chair will recline in a way that releases all the pressure off my soars COMPLETELY!!! My wounds have never been closer to being completely healed and I can go home in just 2 more weeks , if not for this chair, I would most likely be a permanent resident of this nursing home, I’ve lost the life I had , but this chair has given me hope that I can start a new life now, able to do some of the things that I did before and some new things!! Life is good !!
